Madonna noshes on a NY slice of pizza with basil and olive toppings while taping her appearance on Late Night with David Letterman on Wednesday (September 30).
The 51-year-old Material Mom was recently asked if she’s going to have any more kids. She told Popeater, “Who knows? (laughs) Y’know, I have my hands full right now! I have no idea! That’s all I’m going to say. But we never say never.”
15+ pictures inside of Madonna downing a slice of pizza…
Britney Spears debuted her new single today, and it has already sparked some controversy since the subject matter of the song deals with threesomes.
I don’t think these people understand. This is Britney. She is our generation’s Madonna. She does this sort of thing. It’s not new! Don’t you remember Madonna burning crosses and having videos banned from MTV? But we got over it.
As for “3,” Britney’s new song, it’s about the same level of crude fun as her last hit, “If U Seek Amy” (sound it out if you don’t get it). And you can dance to it. So play it in the clubs and stop complaining!
If you want to hear what all the fuss is about, the new single is streaming at BritneySpears.com.
Madonna is apparently getting hitched to her boyfriend Baby Jesus in a lavish Kabbalah ceremony. Madonna thinks he is soo sweet and checks in on her all the time. He thinks she is so fantastic and well-rounded. And he accepts her self-involvement as well. I think and hope it´s just a rumor. I would definitely lose respect for her if she marries him, just to make herself look younger. Sad
Footballer Dwight Yorke has a book coming out and now after 7 years of wanting nothing to do with his baby with Katie Price, aka Jordan now he apparently wants to be the full-time father. He is mad that Jordan keeps referring to ex Peter Andre as the baby’s dad. What an ass that Dwight, Katie has been such a great mom for little Harvey who is severely autistic and now all of a sudden he wants to be a father, WTF.
Susan Boyle might have a very interesting singing partner soon. John Bon Jovi wants to duet with her, he thinks she is fantastic! Wow, Susan turns into a real rock chick. First covering a Rolling Stone hit and now this. I would love to see this duo together.
A Belgian baby, a 22 month year old girl, died this weekend after her mother, a drug addict, had methadone and coke lying around the house and the baby ingested it. The mother was a known case with police forces because of her addiction. So tragic!
I was in high school when Pulp Fiction came out. I remember my high school English teacher standing in front of my senior-year class asking us what was so good about the movie. “Did it have to be so violent?” he wondered.
Of course, asking high school students if movies have to be violent is like asking skydivers if they need airplanes. It betrays a generational forgetfulness, the complaints of someone trying to slow their fall instead of hastening an ascent. That was almost half of my lifetime ago.
So I was sitting in a theater in Manhattan watching Inglourious Basterds with my friend P, who had also been with me in that classroom fifteen years earlier. And I was bored to desperation. I hate admitting that. Boredom is a useless reaction to have to anything. It’s colloquial shorthand that makes it easy to not interrogate your reactions any further. If something is boring, it’s just not worth the effort.
And if I’m honest, this is the single most common response to culture that I have.
I didn’t like Pulp Fiction when it first came out and I still don’t. I admire it in principle. It was a great clarion call of nihilism, a proof that media doesn’t matter nor do our reactions to it. We can see anything, terrible violence, mundanity, and a near psychotic deconstruction of our rotted popular culture and, so long as the pulp has dramatic subtext (e.g. suspense), we will be entertained. Though we like to tell ourselves otherwise, the sheer whoosh of momentary titillation justifies the loss of a few hours in the flickering darkness.
I like this idea. I admire a filmmaker who’d set out to make a two and a half hour movie about nothing but mammalian frisson. This idea was especially poignant in the mid-90’s racing towards the implosion of commercial media and its narrow control of content distribution. I just didn’t like the movie that much. Its subversions weren’t the product of human randomness but a mechanical reframing of obviously pointless schlock.
Tarantino tells us, ventriloquizing through Brad Pitt, that Inglourious Basterds is his “masterpiece.” It’s got all the randomness of Pulp Fiction, contains as much hapless gore (though it seems quaintly restrained and almost safe in comparison to the wallowing carnage of his earlier movies). It even has some genuine sentimentalism, setting up its final movement with a swooning ode to the orphaned Jewess in a montage set to David Bowie’s “Cat People;” the heavy grays and browns in which the movie draws itself are split with bright gashes of red.
It’s also supposed to be a comedy, but I can’t make out the jokes. Tarantino treats history with the same self-serving focus he did Madonna in Reservoir Dogs. What’s wrong-headed about the whole thing is WWII is more interesting than his reduction, while his monologue about dicks was generally more interesting than the song it was deconstructing.
Is it a satire, twisting the conventions of romance and narrative against one of the most complex and traumatic events of human history? Is it a defense of fantasy and popular escapism, outlasting the pomp of history and the inconclusive chaos it leaves behind?
Inglourious Basterds might have made a better case for itself had it applied to history the same verve for deconstruction Tarantino casts on popular culture. But it seems to me like Tarantino doesn’t really know what he’s talking about. The joke about Churchill is that he’s a fat alcoholic who sits in the corner saying almost nothing. The Nazi’s are homo-neurotic girly men on-loan from the Mel Brooks school of historical humiliation.
The Jews don’t have a voice at all (some of you might brave the depths of intellectualism to find a message here, like the image of a black man ball-gagged and rapped by a cop in Pulp Fiction). And the hero is a brazenly witless hack who squints when confronted with accents, though his is the thickest of the lot.
Pitt’s signature move is a willingness to spare Nazi’s only if they endure a swastika being carved into their foreheads so that everyone will be able to identify them by the team colors they wore. This might be satirical if it didn’t seem like Tarantino took such relish in Pitt’s role as the movie’s alpha male.
Living up to the standard of the American action movie, Basterds reminds me that it’s not the smartest guy in the fight that wins, it’s the guy that punches the hardest. In asking audiences to take an exceptionally well-documented and staggeringly complex war and reduce it into a handful of cinematic derivations, Tarantino is asking me to become stupider than I am.
Basterds is a kind of de-evolution through cinema. It shows off the irascible and tired stereotypes of history because they’re necessary for the telling of a cinematic yarn. And this undoes the nihilism that is Tarantino’s sharpest gift. After years of having made movies that informed against the very idea of a masterpiece, Tarantino has crafted his own opus. It’s a love letter to his own career, the work of an ageing author suddenly afraid of the deeper implications of his violent youth.
One of my favorite films,Evita, happens to star Madonna as Argentine political leader and one of my humanitarian idols Eva Perón. Directed by Alan Parker, other heavy hitters included Antonia Banderas as Che and Jonathan Pryce as Perón. Most people I’ve asked about this movie have never seen it but can remember hearing these lyrics to a tune: “Don’t cry for me Argentina. The truth is I never left you!”. Nonetheless, I had a bit of nostalgia this morning as I was listening to a playlist and came across one of my favorite songs from the soundtrack, “I’d be surprisingly Good for You”, that has a very pretty latin flair with the light sambas in the background.
Take a look at the song’s scene from the movie.
After a short history lesson on Eva Peron in a class in high school, I think I read just about every book that was ever written about her. Her story of passion, triumph, and persistence moved me and has ever since been a woman that I admired. Her repertoire included a strong stance for the descamisados (working class) of Argentina, women’s suffrage, and most poignant, her work with children via the Eva Perón Foundation. Not to mention she was solely responsible for the establishment of Argentina’s first female political party – Just a little history lesson!
Besides the political and biographical elements of the movie, the reason it still has such resonance in my mind is because of the fantastical fashion. The movie channeled a very 40s Argentinian glamour that rivals what political royalty were wearing around the world at the time. I don’t know you guys, I think she may have put a little dirt on Jackie O when it came to her fashion sense! Ha!
The other day I was watching a one hour long Spanish soap opera. This is unusually because I don’t watch much television. Television is an old stone age media which tries to keep your attention but doesn’t provide any kind of quality programing. This “novela” used the old formula of the girl growing up poor and catching the eye of a rich guy, eventually, they become a couple and marry. Why does the audience watch the same story over and over again? You can say that the plot appeals to people or that they don’t have alternatives. I think the ladder must be right. The producers of the show just don’t want to experiment because they know what works and are too risk-averse to tinker with anything new. Oh well, our lost. But wait! We have so many other alternatives and they all can be found on the Internet. Youtube, ted.com, forat.tv are just some of the examples of internet video which will eventually replace television.
I am optimistic on the growth of content but I also recognize that the hit-soap opera or the hit-movie will be with us for long time. The hit satisfies our craving for a story which titillates our emotions and grabs our attention. The plot, unless it is a mystery, is known or you can guess it with a high probability of being right. The stories have happy endings. I like happy endings, most people probably like happy endings. I wouldn’t invest my time, energy or money on entertainment which would make me feel bad at the end.
This brings me to the purpose of Art. But, if I am to dabble on this subject ,I must first define it. Art is artificiality. Ok, I got the noun, verb, and object but what do I mean. What I am trying to do is expand the domain of art from what originally comes to mind. It isn’t just a painting, sculpture or music, but also clothing, a jet plane, and soap operas. The difference between the stuff lies on the purpose of each human made artifact. Even though, we can categories all of it as products, which would lead me to a discussion of economics, I want to focus on art that has a purpose not meant as a utility. What is the purpose of a painting? Is it just mere decoration or something to contemplate and criticize. And what of the creator of the painting? Did what he imagine materialize, or did he just did it for the sake of it?
First, before I try to answer these question, let us look into the two philosophies or art and the domains they occupied. I am sure there is more theories of art but I am going to use these two because of the relationship they have on the two domains of thought I am writing off. The peculiar and the general, the individual and the Society, the subjective and the objective. These are examples of what one perceives and what one knows is out there but is abstract. Take for example the individual and the Society, much digital print and blood has been spilled over which is more important. Or which holds a higher superiority over the other. But the fact that their is arguments over these subjects leads to the recognition of conflicts unresolved. And throughout History the pendulum of power has swung either way or stayed static. The same applies to “Art for arts sake” and what I’ll name as “Classic Greek”.
Oscar Wilde was one of the first proponents of the ideas that the purpose of art was entirely subjective and the only reason for its existence was as a medium of expression for the artist. In “Salomé”-great play by the way- he has his characters describe poetically but differently the moon. He wanted to show the audience that art, the spoken word in this case, was subjective. And it was only a matter of who was uttering the words and his or her emotional mood. This is the dominant art philosophy today. It is individualistic, non-conformist, shocking, self-promoting, it is only concern with the freedom of self-expression disregarding the consequences of the art. Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan, Elvis, these are some the names that come to mind. They threw away the manual and follow their own way either led by reason, relativism or a drug induce haze. The point was that there was no point or many, you can go left or right up or down or nowhere at all. This is individual liberty taken to is highest ideals both positive and negative. I am not going to praise or condemn this philosophy but rather just describe it. We do live in a increasingly individualistic age- hey, I have a blog about me-and technology has facilitated the access to the tools needed to express yourself without the hassles of physics or any measurement of consequences.
The other side of the coin emerges when we think of the consequences of “Classic Greek ” The Greek had a overall philosophy, but it pertains to art also, which relied on the idea that there was truths, if not absolute at least probable to a high degree, on this world. That a fact, like a line was a line, wasn’t just in terms of what one thought subjectively was a line but what we can measure and prove to everybody was, indeed, a line. This lead to an overall aggregation of knowledge base on evidence and proofs. But how does this relate to, say the Acropolis of Athens and Art? Because with the confirmation that there was natural truths and techniques to measure them it allowed the ancient Greek artist to edify structures which didn’t come from his mind alone but where more concern with its natural aesthetic and place in the neighborhood and city. The poet, to use another example, thought of the impact of his work or at least how the poem fit in the overall picture. He thought of the society as a whole. His medium wasn’t just a form of self-expression but a conscious effort to show, stir, entertain, or enrich the society he lived in. He thought of the public and what form of art might benefit it. Natural objective aesthetics which everybody can recognize was a giving truth. The aim was to enrich and help the public transcend this world through art. The right art has the power to lift the user to transcending highs and leave him in catharsis and with a new perspective of the world, one hopes. The problem, of course, is that with the emphasis place on society and the overall picture there wasn’t much room for the solo thinker or if one existed, he ran the risk of getting censor. And if society is above the artist then this can be taken to extremes by controlling society through symbols and limiting the availability of different ways of seeing things. Also, the art, for the most part, was local and folkie. It wasn’t concerned with other cities or cultures unless it was Athens. All this is what I call the “Greek Classic” way. Again, I don’t know if it was a better way of doing art or just a highly romanticizes ancient way.
Sometimes, I hear some Americans say that the U.S.A has no art, or is trash entertainment, or that Starbucks is all we got for art. This I believe is wrong because they are thinking of art in the “Greek Classic” way. What America has is “ Art for Arts sake” art and, for the most part, new European art, also has self-expression as the motivator. But the modern or post-modern art has unique attributes. First, there is art that binds a large amount of the public together. Be it the blockbusters, like Star-Wars, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Disney ,The Office or whatever is the Hit-Parade. And the other more cottage art which is to a large degree generated by the Internet. Think of viral videos, machianime or the communities you create on social networks. These are subcultures not the mainstream but, nevertheless, worlds of their own. The art we create is for our own pleasure, subjective, and networkie. Oscar Wilde ‘s view of art is dominant today and he has been vindicated by becoming a brand of his own, indeed, he is very popular, specially amount the Morrissey and The Smiths crowd. Henceforth, the art of any post industrial society is individualistic and only concern with exhibition of the creator.
—-I’ll edit this mmm..post later, since this is a blog I leave it as is for now.

Vale a leitura!
Eu estou me sentindo em casa.

So, Mr. Brainwash gives us brilliant artwork which coincides with an equally stunning promotional campaign, so of course Warner Bros. botches the audio portion. I’m particularly sensitive to this right now given the quality, care and accuracy that went into the recently re-released Beatles catalog.
26 years in, is no one going to step up to preserve Madonna’s recorded legacy?
Lest the tone of this come across as entirely negative (it’s really more underwhelmed than anything), this is to serve as final confirmation of what you’re getting when you buy the new collection. All of the truly iconic songs are here, though many major hits have been omitted. And that’s okay considering –impressively– it would require double the amount of discs to include all of Madonna’s hits in one package.
Here is what is included on Celebration.
There are 16 previously released songs featured in their full-length, original album versions.
BURNING UP
HOLIDAY
MATERIAL GIRL
INTO THE GROOVE
LIVE TO TELL
PAPA DON’T PREACH
LA ISLA BONITA
WHO’S THAT GIRL
LIKE A PRAYER
JUSTIFY MY LOVE
TAKE A BOW
FROZEN
BEAUTIFUL STRANGER
MUSIC - MASTERING ERROR: multiple digital pops and clicks that are not part of the original recording can be heard throughout this song.
DIE ANOTHER DAY - MASTERING ERROR: Track fades up late due to the incorrectly placed track index on the American Life album. This is ridiculous. The unaffected album version appears on both the US Promo CD single and the Die Another Day film soundtrack, all Warner Bros. releases.
HOLLYWOOD - MASTERING ERROR: Track starts abruptly and end of “American Life”’s fade out is audible.
Of these, ten were released as singles in versions that differ from these LP mixes. I would have much preferred the inclusion of the difficult to obtain single mixes, but I’m in therapy and have mostly moved on. Mostly.
Fortunately, five tracks do appear in their official single versions.
SECRET (Edit)
RAY OF LIGHT (Edit)
SORRY (Single Edit)
4 MINUTES (Edit)
MILES AWAY (Radio Edit)
…and one more is a rarity from a US promo CD:
HUNG UP ([Unblended] Album Version)
Next up, there are five remixes lifted directly from The Immaculate Collection.
BORDERLINE (1990) (Q Sound Mix)
LIKE A VIRGIN (1990) (Q Sound Mix)
CRAZY FOR YOU (1990) (Q Sound Mix)
OPEN YOUR HEART (1990) (Q Sound Mix)
VOGUE (1990) (Q Sound Mix)
And now we pause to ask ourselves why.
The remaining nine tracks are unique to the collection. The first two are new recordings.
CELEBRATION
REVOLVER
One appears to be a from-the-vault rarity, likely included by mistake.
LUCKY STAR – ALTERNATIVE Q SOUND MIX
Virtually identical to the version heard on The Immaculate Collection, though there is noticeably more reverb on the “ee-yeah“’s at the foot of each chorus. The music leading into the first verse is different (on TIC is was edited to match the original 7″ version, on here it is not.) The most obvious difference is right at the fade, instead of the chorus it edits to a set of adlibs heard on longer versions of the song, but not heard on the Q Sound version. Odd, but inoffensive as it seems to be a genuine unreleased variation.
As for the rest, quality control has reached an all time low:
EVERYBODY – FAKE EDIT
This uses the full length, original 12″ version as its starting point (as did the official 7″ single version), but is structured differently. While the overall idea for this edit wasn’t horrendous, whoever was placed in charge of actually executing the edits needs to be tortured. Slowly… painfully.
DRESS YOU UP – FUCKED UP INTRO
What the hell happened here? This isn’t a mix variation so much as a mastering error… the album version started late with severe tape pinch/phasing issues right at the top. Of the four beats on the intro, all but the fourth are missing.
EXPRESS YOURSELF – FAKE FUCKING FUCK.
The most offensive. In a failed attempt to kindofsortof recreate the video version, they have taken the complete intro straight off of the Local Mix, “zipper” included. The actual, official video version starts at the percussion and is specially mixed to have echo on the line “Do you believe in love…” which is dry on the Local Mix and therefore not present here. This new monstrosity then incorrectly cuts to the 7″ Remix/Edit version and then again where they have BUTCHERED the song right at the bridge. A bad edit jumps the track from the end of the chorus to the repeat of the bridge which kills the structure of the track. This version is unlistenable.
CHERISH – FAKE EDIT
The original album version cut to the length of the super-short Immaculate Collection version. AMATEUR doesn’t begin to describe how bad these edits have been executed. Poor edits result in creating entirely new lyrics! How about this chestnut… “Can’t get away, I won’t let to” ?! They render all prior complaints about bad edits on Madonna’s releases void. Again, unlistenable. In the cases of “Express Yourself” and “Cherish,” why not just use the fucking Q Sound remixes?! They’re the exact same length as the fake edits and it’s not like there aren’t 6 others from that release present here.
EROTICA – FAKE Radio Edit
The edit points are around the same places as the OFFICIAL radio edit, but are poorly executed. The worst is around 3:30… they cut a beat late making for one of the sloppiest moments on this royalfuckupofacompilation. I don’t understand why this needed to be recreated as the official edit appears on countless singles and 2001’s GHV2 compilation. Oh. And the “surface noise” on the end of “Erotica” overlaps the beginning of “Justify My Love”.
DON’T TELL ME – FAKE Radio Edit
The least offensive/noticeable fake edit, but incorrect nonetheless. The true radio edit was a unique mix for the very last second that does not feature the “whimsical strings” tag. For Celebration, they have chopped off the end, but the first millisecond of this tag is audible.
Regarding the mastering: It sounds as though noise reduction was used to remove “tape hiss” which is unnecessary on most recordings post 1980. This process kills part of the high end of recordings. In addition, the entire album has a smear of bass over it. I really wanted to like it, but it sounds like a cheap “bass boost” EQ effect was applied to the songs, not proper remastering.
I had accepted the slightly shoddy sequencing, several major omissions and overall lack of consistency and attention to detail with the mixes chosen for this release. I love the look of the entire project, but I cannot understand the use of newly created, butchered versions of songs.
Beyonce Knowles appears above, being a gracious leader in entertainment at the VMA’s towards Taylor Swift after Kanye West’s rude interruption of Swift’s speech. Yes, Taylor Swift is all hip hop gangsta tough and cool now. Props! It reeks of Obama spun entertainment engineering, via Jay-Z’s Run This Town power posse, who has a direct line to the oval office, as Swift rules over Jackson entertainment, Madonna and Lady Gaga as a pop role model now. Clever!
And … below is a fan’s take on the whole debacle, as she impersonates the lovely Beyonce commenting on the Kanye West VMAs debacle, in that Southern Houston drawl that is not only funny, but will give you broken ribs from laughing so hard. Enjoy!
“CD Single Collection” is a Japan only limited edition singles box set by Madonna. It was released in November 25, 1996 by Warner Music Japan to commemorate 15 years of Madonna’s single success in Japan. The 3″CD format was shortly to be terminated by Warner in that country and is now a very rare format.
This box set contains every single released in that country from “Burning Up” to “One More Chance“. It holds a set of forty 3″ CD singles and an inlay booklet containing track listings and lyrics of each title song in both Japanese and English.
This compilation includes the Japanese only singles “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore” (released in 1985) and “Spotlight” (released in 1988). Every single contains the artwork used in the Japanese releases, some of which are unique to that market and were not used on the international releases.
None of the single reissues on this box set are available separately.
My Review:
Presentation
I was very excited when this came out and bought it shortly after its release. When I received it, there were mixed feelings. Packaging is pretty rudimentary for a Japan release. The heavy cardboard black box edges scuff very easily, and these are noticeable because the inside is white.
The CD’s are organized inside similarly to tea in envelopes are presented in a tea box. Although the idea is cool, the slots are diagonal, so pulling singles out and making them fit back in can get annoying. Click here to watch a video showing the box and discs.
The singles packaging looks pretty cheap. Most 7″ singles in Japan where released with a front picture insert on a record company sleeve, so there was usually no back artwork. That accounts for the identical look of the back of each single on this set. Again, it looks rather plain.
The quality of the front photos is rather mediocre, definitely not as good as that of the original releases. Colors are washed out, and contrast is poor.
Here’s a comparison of the artwork of the original “Open Your Heart” Japan 7″ single and the 3″ CD version from this box:
Sound Quality
That being said, the sound quality is simply unbeatable, japanese masterings live up to their reputation on this set. Every single has been remastered and sounds crystal clear. The songs are louder than on their original masters but not overly as in today’s remastering, where peaks are oversaturated and frequency range killed, often times resulting in muffled and overall unpleasant sound.
Another nice thing about the box set is that it featured several rather scarce tracks, and remastered. But only those on this post made their very first CD appearance here. Most of these if not all still remain otherwise unavailable on CD. That may change with the release of the new “Celebration” compilation, I will update this post as necessary.
All in all, the “CD Single Collection” is undoubtedly a highlight in any Madonna collection, but it’s for the completist collector in my opinion. Most of the versions found only on this box set are edits and early fades which can nowadays be recreated with audio editing software. The only single version impossible to recreate is “Borderline”.
Label:
Warner-Pioneer Corporation
Box Set Catalog Number:
WPDR-3100-39
Selected Tracks Information:
1. Burning Up (3:53) Produced by Reggie Lucas. An edit of the 12″ version. To my knowledge, Japan was the only country where this version was released. All other single releases use the 3:41 or 4:48 album versions. Only released as a 12″ single in the US, it didn’t chart on the Hot 100.
2. Holiday (4:08) Produced by John “Jellybean” Benitez. This is an edit of the album version. It was used as the single version in most countries. The song was Madonna’s first entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. It debuted in October 29, 1983 and peaked at number 16. Picture sleeve unique to Japan.
3. Borderline (3:58) Produced by Reggie Lucas, remix by John “Jellybean” Benitez. This version is unique as it cannot be recreated using the extended remix. It debuted March 10, 1984 and reached number 10 on the Hot 100 chart.
4. Angel (3:43) written by Madonna and Steve Bray. Produced by Nile Rodgers. An early fade of the album version, it was the single version in the US, UK, and Japan. “Angel” entered the Billboard Hot 100 in April 27, 1985 and peaked at number 5.
5. Angel (Dance Mix Edit) (4:55) written by Madonna and Steve Bray. Produced and remixed by Nile Rodgers. An edit of the extended dance mix. It was the b-side in the US, Japan and Canada. The UK backed the single with the 4:48 album version of “Burning Up”. Picture sleeve unique to Japan.
6. Papa Don’t Preach (3:50) Written by Brian Elliot, additional lyrics by Madonna. Produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray. This is simply an early fade of the album version. It was the single version in some countries including Japan, but not in the US where the album version lead commercial and promo single releases. “Papa Don’t Preach” entered the US chart in June 28, 1986 and peaked at number 1 for two consecutive weeks. Picture sleeve unique to Japan.
7. True Blue (4:06) written and produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray. As with “Papa Don’t Preach”, an early fade of the album version was the A-side in Japan. In the US, the album version lead the single releases, and in the UK it was the remix/edit. “True Blue” entered the Hot 100 in October 4, 1986 and peaked at number 3. Picture sleeve unique to Japan.
8. La Isla Bonita (Instrumental) (4:20) Written by Madonna, Patrick Leonard, and Bruce Gaitsch. Produced by Madonna, Patrick Leonard. Remixed by Chris Lord-Alge. This is an early fade of the 12″ instrumental remix. It was the b-side in most countries. “La Isla Bonita” entered the Hot 100 in March 21, 1987 and peaked at number 4. Picture sleeve unique to Japan.
9. Like A Prayer (5:09) written and produced by Madonna and Patrick Leonard. An early fade of the album version, it was used only in Japan for the single as far as I know. Some copies included the 7″ remix instead, more about that here.”Like A Prayer” entered the Hot 100 in March 3, 1989 and peaked at number 1 for three consecutive weeks.

Fato!
Eu sinceramente não me importo...
I knew the Madonna tribute I posted from last night’s VMA’s would get taken down today.
However, some might remember that at the 1991 Oscars attended the Oscars together as a couple hand in hand.
And a keen observer will notice right away that Madonna pays tribute to The King of Pop right in front of him. See if you can spot what she does during the beginning of the performance as a little homage to MJ.
I miss cheeky, slutty, fuck everyone Madonna! Bring that bitch back!

Modern Art Notes’ Tyler Green posted an article about artists transposing men’s bodies on women. Michelangelo did this frequently.
“Believing (with most of his contemporaries) that the male was superior to the female,” Goffen writes, “Michelangelo intended to honor Mary by making her male… In images, the Renaissance norm remained the feminine ideal embodied by such Madonnas as Leonardo’s. But Michelangelo abandoned this tradition, masculinizing Mary in part to exempt her from his own society’s oppression of women and to shield her from dangerous and inappropriate female sexuality.”
Green writes: “Compare that to today: None of the discussion about Michelle Obama’s guns is about her build personifying an idealized male body, but is instead about her having an idealized female body. The first lady is proud of the body she’s built and she shows it off in sleeveless dresses and tops at every opportunity. While Michelangelo’s Mary is a woman masculinized to separate her from the way women were viewed in the 16thC, Michelle Obama’s presentation of herself explicitly associates herself with modernity.”
“Celebration” is going up in the charts, it’s currently #3 in Europe’s Top 5 Airplay, #9 on the World Chart and currently #2 at Billboard’s Dance/Club Play song. But next week in Billboard’s September issue, the one and only Queen of Pop will have her 40th #1 single!

Boa semana !!

I think you wanna come over, yeah I heard it through the grapevine.
Are you drunk or you sober? Think about it, doesn’t matter
and if it makes you feel good then I say do it,
I don’t know what you’re waiting for
Feel my temperature rising
There’s too much heat I’m gonna lose control
Do you want to go higher, get closer to the fire,
I don’t know what you’re waiting for
Come join the party, yeah
Coz anybody just won’t do.
Let’s get this started, yeah
Coz everybody wants to party with you.
Boy you got a reputation, but you’re gonna have to prove it
I see a little hesitation,
And Madonna have to show you that if it feels right, get on your marks
Step to the beat boy that’s what it’s for
Put your arms around me
When it gets too hot we can go outside
But for now just come here, let me whisper in your ear
An invitation to the dance of life
Come join the party, it’s a celebration
Anybody just won’t do
Let’s get this started, no more hesitation
Coz everybody wants to party with you
Haven’t I seen you somewhere before?
You look familiar…
You wanna dance? …Yeah.
I guess I just don’t recognize you with your clothes on… (laughs)
What are you waiting for?
Boy you’ve got it
Coz anybody just won’t do
Let’s get it started, no more hesitation
Coz everybody wants to party with you
I CAN’T TAKE IT ANY LONGER, THOUGHT THAT WE WERE STRONGER, ALL WE DO IS LINGER, SLIPPING THROUGH OUR FINGERS…
Mas é que gente PUSSYCAT DOLLS É MUITO BOM!!!!! E eu fiquei arrasada por elas terem terminado!!!! Reparem esse clipe dignoooo!!! Bem daqueles “MIIIIIIIININA SAI DESSA FOSSA E VAMO SE JOGAR!!!!!!!”
It’s been about a year since I set out to accomplish some goals – September 4 marks the day I left the Philippines to come to Germany to learn German and make my way into a university here after 1 year or so of language learning. But how have I spent my time? One word: unwisely. I’m not “there” yet, and it’s taking so long! This isn’t turning out to be as I expected but then again, what does? I have wasted so much time and money and for what? Chucky, shut up. All you have to blame is yourself, but it’s too late for that now and all you can do is try to continue to move forward, and in a better manner than before – you see where your previous actions have taken you and since you don’t like it, don’t do it again (but it’s always easier said than done).
Let me sort of try to quote Madonna: Regret is a waste of time, you could say maybe you made a mistake here or there but you learn from your mistakes. It’s one thing to make a mistake but it’s another thing to say you regret… I actually learned more from my mistakes than my victories, so to speak.
As you all know, 2009 Fall season brings us the gorgeous over-the-knee (OTK) boots. Once called “hooker boots” and strictly reserved for fetish events and stage performances, over-the-knee boots have already entered the daily life of many celebrities, who were eager to show off with their designer OTK boots in order to claim the fashion pioneer title. Like it is with every fashion article, these boots will be then a part of the daily lives of all fashionistas all around the world as soon as the summer temperatures cool down.
I know a lot of people, who already started (and some already finished!) their boot shopping to be ready not to miss the first possibility to wear those trendy tall boots. Some of the top models are already sold out and more and more companies are coming out with their version of OTK and thigh-high boots. There is a huge variety in terms of materials, shapes, colors and embellishments. Also, the prices vary a lot depending on the brand name, quality and the store that you buy the boots from.
One thing is for sure: We will enjoy wearing and seeing the beautiful tall boots again-after a couple of generations- and I hope that this trend never dies out completely.
Below is the link to the the first part of the 3 part post “Celebrities in OTK Boots” with more pictures.
No final, ela empurra Jesus.
FBI Director Robert S. Mueller, the FBI and DOJ, have been sued in the Madonna human rights abuse case, under the Freedom of Information Act and the Civil Rights Act. To read the lawsuit click here.
Be sure to read the parts about her famous producers, friends, associates, staff members and Kabbalah members, contacting and approaching me on her behalf and the part about Kabbalah member Russell Davies’ sick misconduct in conjunction with her (press ctrl F and then type in his name Russell Davies). I will post a summary of the lawsuit shortly.
During the George W. Bush administration, I filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the FBI. First they lied in writing and stated there were no files. Then, when I pressed the issue some more with a written “appeal” of their decision, they stated in writing there are files and they are withholding them and I’d have to sue them to get it, so I did today.
The FBI has been withholding thousands of pages in files relating to the case and other items concerning me, in violation of the Freedom of Information Act.
Madonna
When Obama ran for President, he promised “Change” in America. He also promised “transparency” in government, something that was sorely lacking during the Bush years.
Therefore, it is in this vein that I filed the lawsuit. A rough draft of the lawsuit, along with a polite, respectful letter was sent to Obama on July 15. 2009, which the U.S. Postal Service confirms the White House has received.
It was a last resort, as Madonna’s conduct is endangering my very life, as the lawsuit details and the FBI’s criminal negligence and cover-up thereof, has caused me extensive damage as well. Madonna, through her staff, famous producers, associates and friends, keeps contacting me and harassing me.
Marcia G. Cook (center)
As many of you know, I sued Madonna/Sony in 2005 and the case was corrupted by her. It was thrown out without being read, by Miami Judge and George W. Bush appointee, Marcia G. Cook (the magistrate judge was Stephen Brown).
She is the same judge that violated the Constitution to aid Bush, who for the first time in U.S. history, held a man in prison for years, without charging him for a crime. 400 years of painstaking law was thrown out the window, marking a profound low in the Judiciary’s history.
Cook further stated the case, which involved assault and death threats against me was, “Amusing.” Yes, really. That’s the word she inexcusably used in her ruling, while stating pop stars could not have broken the law. She reminds me of verbally abusive, Judge Kent, who was recently impeached.
She threw it out, clearly without reading it, the same day she received it, according to the court’s case transfer sheet. My case was not the only one she had that day, as she had dozens. Therefore, she could not have possibly read the 60 pages of the lawsuit, 200 pages of evidence exhibits and Gigabytes of comparative data illustrating infringements.
In short, she committed fraud. People do not pay their taxes and court filing fees, for their cases not to be read and reviewed correctly. That spits in the taxpayers faces, who pay judges salaries and is a violation of the judicial canons.
She also stated something in her ruling, that was riddled with misspellings and misapplied law, that I was instructed to cut the case down to 50 pages, when I was told to cut it down to “60 pages” by her colleague, who was the judge that had the case first, Cecilia Altonaga.
Cecilia Altonaga
Madonna and her cohorts kept stealing items from my preexisting Copyrighted Catalog and Altonaga ignored the motion for an injunction to bar her from stealing anything else, which I thought was strange.
Then, she and the Defendants called me into court for a hearing in December 2005, where she basically treated me the victim, like a criminal and the lawbreaking Defendants’ lawyers, like royalty.
She even sarcastically told me to “Try state court” which is absolutely the wrong venue for a copyright case, as copyrights pertain to federal law and federal court. I’ve seen other copyright cases dismissed from state court with the court stating it is the wrong venue. I can’t imagine as a judge, Altonaga did not know this. I politely requested in a motion that she recuse herself.
She was acting in the Defendants’ best financial interest, not in the interest of justice and truth. Turns out, Altonaga’s child had been given stock in the Defendants’ company (Sony) and her husband works for the law firm, Holland and Knight as a partner and Sony is one of their biggest clients. That’s a multi-million dollar account. So they put food on her table and as such, she ruled in their favor.
R. Allen Stanford was arrested a few months ago for running a ponzi scheme
It’s this same sort of thing that allowed R. Allen Stanford to win a case in Miami he should not have. It’s a shame, as had integrity prevailed in the case years ago, when a man formally sued and accused him in court, of running a ponzi scheme, providing proof thereof, investors in America, Britain and the Caribbean, would have saved billions of their hardearned life savings.
This year it was revealed, the FBI also knew since 1998, what Stanford was doing in running a ponzi scheme, but kept silent, allowing it to continue, instead of arresting him and stopping the financial damages a decade ago, which grew to terrible proportions over the last 10 years.
The case against Stanford was dismissed and the innocent, truth telling Plaintiff, was ordered to pay that crook Stanford $300,000 in court costs and damages. Talk about corrupt. Read about it by clicking here. Stanford’s chief financial officer has now pled guilty, disclosing their criminal misconduct.
As stated above, Obama promised “change” and “transparency” in government. So, let’s see if things have changed regarding the government, court system and corporate America or if my rights will be corruptly violated again in court.
It will also be a bellwether to you, the business owner and the domestic/global investor, as to the true state of things in the corporate and court sector.
I filed the case in the appropriate jurisdiction, under the appropriate laws, it is formatted according to the rules of federal procedure and I have successful proved access and misconduct that are a proximate cause of the clear cut damages I sustained.
The case has been assigned to judge Jose Martinez. However, the magistrate judge providing oversight, is the same one from the 2005 Madonna case, judge Stephen Brown (18 magistrate judges and I get the same one again). However, once again, I’m going to act in good faith.
I will post all the details of the case as it transpires, every single aspect, on the Judiciary Report and its affiliated sites. I’m also asking you to forward the lawsuit link to as many people as possible, to create awareness about the case.
The more people that know about it, the less inclined those Hollywood Kabbalah loons should be, in continuing to harass and terrorize me.
